A Hertfordshire based scuba diving club run by the members, for the members. They are the ONLY PADI Recreational Dive Facility in Hertfordshire with a policy to actively promote scuba diving in Stevenage and surrounding areas through various activities. They have an ongoing training program where they teach people how to dive in a safe and enjoyable way with training season runs throughout the year.
They approached EDGE with a request to design a new poster that would encourage new members and non-divers to take part and try Scuba Diving. The posters needed to be formatted to A3 size and needed to be ‘Fun’ eye-catching and easy to read. The use of female divers in the primary image also served as a reminder that scuba diving can be enjoyed by everyone in what tends to be a male dominated sport.
The use of geometric shapes draws the eye from left to right through the content making it easy to assimilate the information.
Chairman of Herts Dive Club, Steve Jellis, explains why he chose this specific design
The poster design perfectly portrays the message we were looking for. It is informal and fun in terms of its appearance but also reflects the structured and organised way in which we teach. The posters are already on display and the feedback from the public has been great!
